Sydney Students create coffee portrait of Al Pacino

A GROUP of Diploma of Fine Arts students have created a 3m-high portrait of actor Al Pacino – out of coffee.
The artwork took all day to make and 25 students from TAFE Western Sydney Institute’s Nepean College helped in the project. The portrait was painted on water colour paper and the coffee was watered down to create three different tones, while a darker tone was also created by burning coffee and adding water.
The work is on display in the Kingswood campus’s Trapezium Gallery.
